Deputy Heads of Agencies under the Government of Vietnam shall not exceed 04 persons

This content is stipulated in Decree 10/2016/ND-CP, which regulates the agencies under the Government of Vietnam.

The number of deputy heads of agencies under the Government of Vietnam shall not exceed 04. In cases of mergers or due to requirements for transfers or rotations, the number of deputy heads may be increased but shall not exceed 05, subject to the consideration and decision of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

According to Decree 10/2016/ND-CP, the appointment and dismissal of the heads and deputy heads of agencies are as follows:

- The head of the agency under the Government of Vietnam is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam; and is responsible for all activities of the agency under the Government of Vietnam.- The deputy head is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam based on the proposal of the head; and is responsible for assisting the head in directing and addressing certain areas of work. The tasks of the deputy head are assigned by the head.
