Decree 20: Establishment of Loc Ha District under Ha Tinh Province in Vietnam from March 01, 2007

Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 20/2007/ND-CP on the adjustment of administrative boundaries of communes, wards, and districts; the establishment of wards in district-level town Ha Tinh; the establishment of Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province in Vietnam.

Decree 20/2007/ND-CP stipulates the establishment of Loc Ha District under Ha Tinh Province based on the adjustment of 7,579.8 hectares of natural area and 43,204 inhabitants of Can Loc District (covering the entire natural area and population of the communes: Ich Hau, Hong Loc, Phu Luu, Binh Loc, Tan Loc, An Loc, Thinh Loc); 4,251.05 hectares of natural area and 43,009 inhabitants of Thach Ha District (covering the entire natural area and population of the communes: Thach Kim, Thach Bang, Thach Chau, Mai Phu, Ho Do, Thach My). To be specific: 

- Loc Ha District has 11,830.85 hectares of natural area and 86,213 inhabitants, with 13 administrative units under its management, including the communes: Ich Hau, Phu Luu, Hong Loc, Binh Loc, Tan Loc, An Loc, Thinh Loc, Thach Kim, Thach Bang, Thach Chau, Thach My, Mai Phu, Ho Do.- Administrative boundaries of Loc Ha District: East borders the East Sea; West borders Can Loc District; South borders Thach Ha District and Ha Tinh town-level town; North borders Nghi Xuan District in Vietnam.

Thus, after adjusting the administrative boundaries in Vietnam:

- Can Loc District remains with 30,084.58 hectares of natural area and 137,647 inhabitants, with 23 administrative units under its management, including the communes: Thuong Nga, Song Loc, Phu Loc, Gia Hanh, Thuong Loc, Dong Loc, Yen Loc, Kim Loc, Truong Loc, Thanh Loc, Trung Loc, Vinh Loc, Khanh Loc, My Loc, Son Loc, Quang Loc, Xuan Loc, Tien Loc, Vuong Loc, Thien Loc, Thuan Thien, Tung Loc, and the town-level town Nghen. Administrative boundaries of Can Loc District: East borders Loc Ha and Thach Ha Districts; West borders Duc Tho District; South borders Huong Khe and Thach Ha Districts; North borders Hong Linh town-level town, Nghi Xuan District.

- Thach Ha District remains with 35,643.49 hectares of natural area and 139,111 inhabitants, with 31 administrative units under its management, including the communes: Thach Kenh, Thach Lien, Phu Viet, Thach Long, Thach Son, Thach Thanh, Thach Tien, Viet Xuyen, Thach Ngoc, Ngoc Son, Thach Dai, Thach Luu, Thach Vinh, Bac Son, Thach Xuan, Nam Huong, Thach Tan, Thach Lam, Thach Huong, Thach Dien, Tuong Son, Thach Thang, Thach Van, Thach Hoi, Thach Tri, Thach Lac, Thach Khe, Thach Dinh, Thach Hai, Thach Ban and the town-level town Thach Ha. Administrative boundaries of Thach Ha District: East borders the East Sea; West borders Can Loc and Huong Khe Districts; South borders Cam Xuyen District; North borders Can Loc and Loc Ha Districts.

Ha Tinh Province has 12 administrative units under its management, including the districts: Ky Anh, Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, Can Loc, Loc Ha, Nghi Xuan, Duc Tho, Huong Son, Vu Quang, Huong Khe and the town-level towns: Ha Tinh, Hong Linh.
