Recently, the Government of Vietnam has signed and issued Decree 17/2014/ND-CP regulating the organization and operation of the Diplomatic Inspectorate.
The handling of overlaps in inspection activities in the field of Vietnamese expatriates and diplomatic collaborators is regulated in Decree 17/2014/ND-CP as follows:
- The Chief Inspector of the Ministry is responsible for taking the lead in handling overlaps regarding scope, subjects, content, and timing of inspections between the Ministry Inspectorate and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese; cooperating with the Chief Inspector of the province to resolve overlaps in Diplomatic Inspectorate activities with local inspection agencies, and submitting to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for consideration when necessary.- Plans of lower-level agencies that overlap with the plans of higher-level agencies should follow the plans of the higher-level agencies.- The Chief Inspector of the Department reports to the Chief Inspector of the province to handle overlaps in inspection activities with local inspection agencies and reports to the Ministry Inspectorate in sector-specific inspection activities.
