Criteria for Awarding the Title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces"

"Hero of the People's Armed Forces" is an esteemed title aimed at recognizing, commending, and honoring individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in the people's armed forces.

Criteria for Awarding or Posthumously Awarding the Title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to Individuals:

- Absolutely loyal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, displaying heroic, courageous, resourceful actions, self-sacrifice, achieving particularly outstanding achievements in combat, training, and combat service, in maintaining security, order, and social safety, and being a national role model;- Having initiatives, solutions, or research projects of special value applied in military, security, or socio-economic activities that have practical nationwide effectiveness;- Possessing excellent technical, tactical skills, and professional competencies; continuously improving professional, operational, and political skills, completing all tasks excellently; having significant contributions in training teammates in technical, tactical, professional, and operational skills;- Having firm political bravery, exhibiting moral qualities and a healthy lifestyle, promoting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation, and being an exemplary role model in all aspects.

Criteria for Awarding the Title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to Collectives:

- Achieving particularly outstanding achievements in combat, combat service, maintaining security, order, social safety, and loyalty to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;- Being brave, resourceful, and creative in combat and combat training readiness, being a leading flag in the emulation movement, having many contributions to the sector’s development;- Leading the entire army, the entire People's Public Security force in promoting initiatives, technical improvements, innovating leadership and command methods, achieving many accomplishments in applying new scientific and technical advancements in combat, training, and work;- Leading in training and educating technical, tactical, professional, and political skills for officers and soldiers; effectively managing weapons and technical facilities, ensuring absolute safety for people and property;- Leading in compliance with the policies and guidelines of the Communist Party, laws of the State, exemplary in adhering to the discipline, regulations, and charters of the People's Army and People's Public Security; promoting internal solidarity, cooperation, assisting and uniting with the people, well caring for the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers;- Actively participating in local movements, being trusted and loved by the local people, and setting an exemplary role model in all aspects; having a clean and strong Communist Party organization and bodies.

The title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” is considered once every 5 years, except for cases of particularly outstanding and sudden achievements.
