Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Circular 11/2014/TT-BVHTTDL on awarding the Commemorative Medal "For the cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism." in Vietnam.

Circular 11/2014/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates the criteria for awarding the commemorative medal "For the cause of Culture, Sports, and Tourism" to overseas Vietnamese or foreigners as follows:
- Have made significant contributions to the construction and development of the culture, sports, and tourism sectors; strengthening friendship and cooperation between the sector and other countries and international organizations, units under the Ministry, Departments of Culture, Sports, and Tourism;- Special cases decided by the Minister.
In addition, this Circular also specifies cases that may be considered for early awarding of the commemorative medal compared to the regulations as follows:
- Ballet dancers, circus performers, athletes with fewer than 05 years of service compared to the service period stipulated in Clause 1, Article 5 of this Circular;- Labor Heroes, National Emulation Soldiers, People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, People's Artisans, Meritorious Artisans, People's Teachers, Meritorious Teachers, People's Physicians, Meritorious Physicians, authors, groups of authors with works, clusters of works, projects, clusters of projects awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, State Prize for literature and art are proposed for the commemorative medal immediately after the decision to award these titles.
