On August 9, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 187/2017/TT-BQP specifying the costs for infertility examination and treatment for soldiers working in hazardous environments.
Circular 187 regulates the costs for infertility and sterility treatment, ensuring examination and treatment for infertility and sterility for subjects including officers, professional soldiers, workers, and public employees of national defense working in hazardous military labor environments affecting reproductive health.
Subjects are considered infertile or sterile upon the conclusion of infertility or sterility by hospitals or reproductive support centers recognized by the Ministry of Health.
The content of the examination and treatment for infertility and sterility is regulated in Circular 187 as follows:
- Infertility and sterility examination includes: Classification examination of infertility and sterility; clinical examination in obstetrics and urology; paraclinical examination (hormone testing, imaging diagnostics, semen analysis, ovulation monitoring);
- Infertility and sterility treatment includes: Medication treatment, artificial insemination, in vitro fertilization, and sperm cultivation.
The costs for the examination and treatment of infertility and sterility for soldiers working in hazardous military labor environments are supported based on actual costs but do not exceed the standards and limits prescribed by law.
