Costs for Medical Examinations under the Law on Military Service and Military Recruitment

On August 9, 2017, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 187/2017/TT-BQP detailing the costs for medical examinations in the implementation of the Law on Military Service and military enrollment.

Circular 187 stipulates that the costs for health examinations to implement the Military Service Law and military recruitment include the costs to ensure health reassessment for newly enlisted soldiers at units and health examinations for new students of academies and institutions in the Army. These include:

- Health reassessment for newly enlisted soldiers comprises: physical fitness examination; clinical examinations in specialized departments as prescribed for health examinations to implement the Military Service Law; paraclinical examinations (drug tests, HIV tests; chest X-ray).- Health examination for new students includes: physical fitness examination; clinical examinations in specialized departments as prescribed for health examinations to implement the Military Service Law; paraclinical examinations (blood type tests, hematological and biochemical indices; urine tests; general ultrasound, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray).- Costs for chemicals for tests and consumable materials ensuring health examinations to implement the Military Service Law and military recruitment are carried out following the standards and norms prescribed by law.
