Circular 02/2018/TT-BXD stipulating environmental protection in the construction of works and policies on reporting environmental protection activities in the Construction sector officially takes effect from April 01, 2018.
Together with the project owner, the construction contractor is responsible for environmental protection, specifically as follows:
- Implementing the environmental management and protection plan and regulations on environmental protection during the execution of the contract package;- Arranging personnel responsible for the environment in accordance with the law on environmental protection to implement environmental protection measures according to the Environmental Impact Assessment Report or the project's Environmental Protection Plan;- Developing and implementing internal rules and regulations on environmental protection during the construction of the project;- Organizing the preparation and submission to the project owner for approval of technical solutions and environmental protection measures during the construction of the project;- Organizing training, disseminating and guiding the internal rules, processes, and environmental protection measures to officials, workers, laborers, and other relevant entities on the construction site;- Halting construction activities if a risk of pollution or a serious environmental incident is detected and implementing corrective measures to ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements before continuing construction;- Implementing other contents as prescribed by the law on environmental protection.
