Content Required on the Current Status Cross-Section Drawing of the Mining Area

The content is detailed in Circular 02/2013/TT-BTNMT of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, which stipulates the preparation of current status maps, cross-sectional drawings of areas permitted for mineral exploitation; inventory and accounting of mineral reserves.

According to Article 9 of Circular 02/2013/TT-BTNMT, the current situation cross-section maps of the areas permitted for mineral extraction should include the following contents:

The current situation cross-sections of the area permitted for mineral extraction are established based on the resource map, the map of (wall/pillar) exposure of the mineral body, and the resource calculation cross-sections in the mineral exploration results report used for formulating the mineral extraction investment project, mine design, and supplemented with information at the time the current situation map is established in accordance with Articles 5, 6, and 7 of this Circular.

It should be noted that the elements on the current situation cross-section must fully depict information about the mineral body and any changes to the mineral body that the cross-section passes through.

In the case where the mineral extraction area (extraction pit, longwall) at the time of establishing the current situation cross-section does not have any previous geological exploration lines passing through, at least two supplementary current situation cross-sections must be established. The supplementary current situation cross-sections must align with the exploration lines and pass through the entire area being mined and any advanced resource exploration projects (if any).

Refer to other regulations in Circular 02/2013/TT-BTNMT which took effect from April 15, 2013.
