Circular 13/2018/TT-BCA stipulating the conditions on physical facilities, equipment, and minimum means for public judicial expertise organizations in the field of forensic science was issued on May 9, 2018.
This Circular specifically stipulates the conditions for equipment and means for assessment as follows:
Equipment and means for assessment are to be equipped according to the forensic assessment specialties stipulated in Circular No. 33/2014/TT-BCA on standards and procedures for appointing forensic technicians, and based on forensic assessment procedures issued by the Minister of Public Security; including the following 10 groups of equipment:
Firstly, equipment and means for fingerprint trace assessment;
Secondly, equipment and means for mechanical trace assessment;
Thirdly, equipment and means for firearm and ammunition assessment;
Fourthly, equipment and means for document assessment;
Fifthly, equipment and means for fire and explosion assessment;
Sixthly, equipment and means for technical assessment;
Seventhly, equipment and means for sound assessment;
Eighthly, equipment and means for biological trace and DNA assessment;
Ninthly, equipment and means for chemical and narcotic substance assessment;
Tenthly, equipment and means for digital and electronic assessment.
