Practicing certificate for surveying and mapping is a document that certifies professional practice capacity, issued by a competent authority to an individual who meets the conditions and is valid nationwide. To be specific::
Individuals issued with professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping must meet the following conditions:
- Possess full civil act capacity according to the provisions of the law;- Have the relevant educational qualifications, as well as the duration and experience participating in work suitable for the content requested for the professional practice certificate;- Have undergone an examination of professional experience and legal knowledge related to the content requested for the professional practice certificate.
Professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping are classified into the following 2 categories:
- Category I is issued to individuals with a university degree or higher, having at least 5 continuous years of participation in surveying and mapping activities and meeting the conditions for certificate issuance;- Category II is issued to individuals with a university degree or higher, having at least 2 continuous years of participation in surveying and mapping activities; individuals with an intermediate or college degree, having at least 3 continuous years of participation in surveying and mapping activities and meeting the conditions for certificate issuance.
The authority for examination, issuance, renewal, reissuance, change, and revocation of professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping is specified as follows:
- The specialized state management agency for surveying and mapping under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is responsible for the examination, issuance, renewal, reissuance, change, and revocation of Category I professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping;- The specialized agency for natural resources and environment under the provincial People's Committee is responsible for the examination, issuance, renewal, reissuance, change, and revocation of Category II professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping.
Note:
- Each professional practice certificate in surveying and mapping is issued for one or multiple professional practice contents according to the List of surveying and mapping professions; Vietnamese citizens practicing surveying and mapping independently must have a professional practice certificate suitable to the work performed; the certificate is valid for at least 5 years and can be renewed.- The recognition of professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping between Vietnam and other countries is carried out according to the provisions of international agreements or treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a member.- Professional practice certificates in surveying and mapping are reissued in case of loss; changed in case of tearing, damage, or if individuals require to change the information on the certificate.- The professional practice certificate in surveying and mapping is revoked in case the certificate holder commits prohibited acts in surveying and mapping activities as stipulated in Article 6 of the Surveying and Mapping Law 2018.
