The following article contains information about the conditions for enterprises to be granted a License to provide online G1 online gaming services in Vietnam from December 25, 2024, as stipulated in Decree No. 147/2024/ND-CP.

On November 9, 2024, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 147/2024/ND-CP on the management, provision, and use of Internet services and online information.

According to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 39 of Decree 147/2024/ND-CP, an enterprise is granted a license to provide G1 online gaming services when it meets the following conditions:

- The enterprise is established under the laws of Vietnam, with its business activity of providing online gaming services registered on the National Business Registration Portal; it has a head office with a clear address and contact phone number that can be reached.

- The domain name used to provide services has been registered.

- The enterprise has sufficient financial, organizational, and managerial capacity for electronic games suitable to the scale of the enterprise's activities.

- There is a technical equipment system to connect payments with payment service providers and intermediary payment service providers according to legal regulations, ensure accurate and complete update and storage, and allow players to access detailed information about their payment accounts within the game application (game account).

- A technical equipment system is in place to ensure the storage and complete update of players' information in Vietnam, including: Full name; date of birth; mobile phone number in Vietnam. Player account verification is carried out via mobile phone numbers in Vietnam, ensuring that only verified accounts can participate in games. In cases where players are under 16 years old, parents or legal guardians register accounts using the information of parents or legal guardians and are responsible for supervising and managing playtime and game content accessed by players under 16 years old; deleting player information after the storage period expires, as prescribed.

- A technical equipment system is in place to manage playtime within a day (from 00:00 to 24:00) for players under 18 years old not exceeding 60 minutes for each game, but not exceeding 180 minutes per day for all games provided by the enterprise for players under 18 years old.

- A technical equipment system is in place to continuously display game classification results by age for all games provided by the enterprise when introducing, advertising, and distributing; with warning information that playing more than 180 minutes a day negatively affects health, displayed at an easily recognizable location in the game's forum (if any) and on the player's device screen at a frequency of once every 30 minutes during game play.

- A technical equipment system ensures the management of exchange and sharing content within the game and on the game's forum (if any) as stipulated in Clause 2, Article 28 of Decree 147/2024/ND-CP.

- Measures are in place to manage content and player account information, ensuring complete storage, continuous update, and accurate information on players' service usage, including: Account name, service usage time, information relating to the ownership of virtual items, virtual units, player rewards.

- A plan is in place to ensure network information security, information security, service quality, and the legitimate rights of players.

- A backup plan for equipment and connectivity, data backup plan to ensure system safety when incidents occur.

Refer to Decree 147/2024/ND-CP which takes effect from December 25, 2024.
