- Employees in the science and technology (S&T) sector are workers belonging to units that are statistically recognized in the S&T sector as of December 31 of the reporting year, who are paid or salaried by the base/agency/unit, including: permanent staff, long-term contract workers, and part-time workers.- Units in the S&T sector include:- S&T organizations as stipulated in the Law on Science and Technology;- S&T management units under Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government of Vietnam; People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.- Permanent staff are officials and public employees, officially recruited to work in agencies and organizations within the S&T sector.- Long-term contract workers include laborers with indefinite-term labor contracts and definite-term labor contracts of at least 12 months.- The number of employees in the S&T sector includes workers managed, utilized, and salaried by the reporting unit, including both officially recruited permanent staff and long-term contract workers, and part-time workers.
