Compilation of Duties of Crew Members on Fishing Vessels

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued Circular 22/2018/TT-BNNPTNT regulating crew members of fishing vessels and fishery service vessels.

According to Circular 22/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, crew members are those directly managed and supervised by the captain and chief officer, executing tasks as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 74 of the Fisheries Law and some of the following tasks:

- Before each sea trip, prepare equipment, fishing gear, materials, labor protection, safety equipment, and fire prevention;- Perform tasks related to the exploitation, preservation of fishing gear, preliminary processing, and preservation of the harvested products;- Effectively use and maintain machinery and equipment for seafood exploitation, materials, and labor protection;- Comply with legal regulations on ensuring the safety of people and fishing vessels;- Perform shifts on the ship and other tasks as assigned.
