Communist Party Members Joining the Church of God: Are They Subject to Communist Party Disciplinary Action?

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also officially spoken at the regular meeting of the Government of Vietnam held on May 03, 2023. To be specific, the acts and activities of the Church of God have violated traditional customs, social ethics, and do not comply with the provisions of the Law on Beliefs and Religions.

In many localities, the police have also stepped in to investigate the matter and handle it according to the law.

Communist Party members are also advised to avoid participating in organizations like the Church of God. According to Regulation 102-QD/TW, Communist Party members who commit the following acts violating beliefs and religions will be disciplined ranging from reprimands and warnings to dismissals:

- Knowing but not taking measures to educate or prevent their spouse or children living together in the family from participating in illegal religious organizations and illegal religious propagation;- Organizing, mobilizing, luring, instigating, dragging, threatening, or coercing others to participate in illegal religions;- Supporting or participating in illegal religious organizations.
