This is one of the important skills that students in the Public Relations field must have as stipulated in Circular 41/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in journalism, information, business, and management fields.
Circular 41/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates that Public Relations (hereinafter abbreviated as PR) at the college level is a profession aimed at building and improving the image of an individual or a company, delivering information to the media, and attracting their attention, meeting the level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework. In current enterprises, the scope of PR activities is very broad, but mainly focused on areas such as organizing special events; crisis and instability mitigation; maintaining relationships with the media and regulatory authorities; organizing internal communications activities, etc. Additionally, PR involves tasks such as preparing sponsorship information, charity activities, and organizing social responsibility activities for individuals/enterprises.

Therefore, learners in the Public Relations discipline at the college level must utilize basic foreign languages, reaching level 2/6 in the Vietnam Language Proficiency Framework; applying foreign languages to their professional work in this field. In addition, learners must have other essential skills to serve their jobs, specifically:
- Developing and implementing short-term, medium-term, and long-term public relations campaigns;
- Planning and organizing communication events for enterprises;
- Coordinating multimedia communication tools; applying knowledge of graphic design, synchronizing audio and images, and video in the actual production of communication products;
- Drafting content on media channels to promote corporate information;
- Essentially constructing communication messages in crisis situations;
- Utilizing conventional internal and external communication tools and methods;
- Organizing public relations activities for enterprises;
- Selecting and organizing training programs for staff for the enterprise's public relations activities;
- Applying science and technology to public relations activities;
- Assessing the public relations activities of enterprises and providing reasonable advice to enterprise leaders;
- Utilizing basic information technology as per regulations; exploiting, processing, and applying information technology in their professional work;
Besides the above-mentioned skills, learners should proactively equip themselves with necessary knowledge, autonomy, and responsibility for their work, alongside many other criteria to find a suitable position after graduation.
