Below are the Code of conduct for users on child protection in the online environment in Vietnam from January 21, 2025.

The Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam issued Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, regarding the promulgation of the Code of Conduct on the Protection of Children in the Online Environment.

The Code of Conduct for users on child protection in the online environment is stipulated in Article 7 of the Code of Conduct on the Protection of Children in the Online Environment issued under Decision 88/QD-BTTTT on January 21, 2025, as follows:

- Comply with legal provisions on the protection of children in the online environment; adhere to the terms of use of service providers.

- Do not share harmful content to children that can affect their healthy development. Do not share private life information of children online without the consent of parents, guardians, and children from the age of 07 and above.

- Do not comment, engage in, or promote behaviors that negatively impact the psychology and emotions of children on forums and social networks.

- Do not incite, attract, or lure children to engage in online activities without the consent of parents or guardians.

- Report and notify VN-COP of harmful content and child abuse behaviors in the online environment.

- Share measures to protect children online and spread online child protection programs to family and the community.

Code of conduct for internet service providers and platforms on child protection in the online environment in Vietnam

Internet service providers and platforms must adhere to the following code of conduct:

- Develop, disclose, and regularly publicize policies, community standards, and ethical standards according to Vietnamese laws, in accordance with Vietnamese customs to protect children online.

- Ensure the privacy of children's personal and private life as per legal regulations.

- Control and check the age and frequency of children's use of products and services. Implement protective measures for children and limit game playing hours online for children and minors under 18 according to legal provisions on child protection.

- Proactively implement and establish, improve technical tools for reviewing, blocking, and removing harmful content for children, and child abuse behaviors.

- Provide and continuously improve content filters, alerts, and restrictions on accessing inappropriate information based on age.

- Provide information to competent authorities when detecting harmful content, child abuse behaviors, and coordinate in prevention and removal.

- Build procedures and propagate, guide how to report when encountering harmful content or child abuse in the online environment.

- Actively develop content and applications that promote healthy development, creativity, and problem-solving skills for children.
