Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH: Introduction to Mechatronics at College Level in Vietnam

Recently, Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH has just issued regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners in Vietnam must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate level and college level in electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications fields.

In the regulation of minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners in Vietnam must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in the field of mechatronics issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that the mechatronics field at the college level is one in which practitioners perform tasks of designing, assembling, connecting, maintaining and related services to mechatronic products and automation equipment systems, meeting the requirements of Level 5 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Workers in the mechatronics field in Vietnam may work in various positions in manufacturing plants, assembling mechatronic products, automated production lines, businesses providing repair and maintenance services for mechatronic products, businesses supplying mechatronics equipment, and customer care for users of mechatronics products and services.

The primary tasks of the mechatronics field are: designing mechatronic systems; analyzing the structure and operation of mechatronic systems; assembling, operating, and maintaining mechanical, electrical-electronic, hydraulic-pneumatic equipment systems, automated systems using controllers; installing and operating automation equipment and systems; handling incidents of mechatronic equipment systems; organizing production in teams, and training lower-level workers.

Minimum knowledge volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).

Additionally, after graduation, learners possess the competency to meet the requirements at job positions in the field, including:

- Machining mechanical parts;

- Mechanical assembly in mechatronic systems;

- Electrical and electronic assembly in mechatronic systems;

- Pneumatic and hydraulic assembly in mechatronic systems;

- Operating and supervising mechatronic systems;

- Programming the control of mechatronic systems;

- Programming and operating industrial robots;

- Maintaining and upgrading mechatronic systems;

- Doing business in the field of mechatronics.
