Recently, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment signed and promulgated Circular 34/2014/TT-BTNMT stipulating the construction, management, and exploitation of the land information system.

Data security policies for land information are specifically stipulated by Circular 34/2014/TT-BTNMT as follows:

- Printing, copying, transporting, receiving, transmitting data, storing, preserving, providing data, and other activities related to data within the scope of state secrets must comply with regulations on protecting state secrets.- The land data providing agency shall preside, cooperate with relevant units to monitor and detect unsecured confidential data for prompt handling.- Officers, officials, and employees who update and exploit the land database are granted access and updating rights in each data component, ensuring strict management of access and updating information in the land database.- The list of confidential land documents belongs to the list of state secret documents prescribed in the Prime Minister's Decision of the Government of Vietnam on the list of top-secret state secrets in the field of natural resources and environment, and the Decision of the Minister of Public Security on the list of confidential state secrets in the field of natural resources and environment.
