Recently, the Minister of Industry and Trade has signed and issued Circular 34/2019/TT-BCT stipulating the energy information system.
Article 11 Circular 34/2019/TT-BCT stipulates that energy information shall be published in the form of publications, including the following basic information:

- Overview and development trends of national energy;- Settlement and balance of energy supply and demand;- Time series data on extraction, import-export, production, conversion, and consumption of various types of fuels including electricity, coal, oil and gas, new and renewable energy;- Time series data on power source capacity and electricity output by fuel, electricity consumption by various economic sectors, peak system load, power system reserve factor, percentage of communes with electricity, percentage of households with electricity, and indicators related to the reliability of power supply systems;- Composite energy statistics: total primary energy supply, primary energy intensity per Gross Domestic Product (hereinafter referred to as GDP), primary energy supply per capita; level of dependence on imported energy in total primary energy supply; total final energy consumption, primary energy intensity per GDP, final energy consumption per capita; level of energy diversification, fuel proportion in primary energy supply and final energy consumption;- Renewable energy indicators: proportion of renewable energy in primary energy supply, electricity production, final energy consumption; greenhouse gas emission indicators in the energy sector, industrial production, manufacturing industry and construction, transport, and other sub-sectors;- Comparisons of Vietnam's energy statistics with those of other countries in the region and globally.
Additionally, energy information is published on the Energy Information System website at the address www.veis.erea.gov.vn.
This Circular stipulates that energy information shall be provided and used according to the following groups:
a) Publicly shared with the community;
b) Provided under the obligations and responsibilities in the agreements between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and international organizations;
c) Provided upon request by relevant organizations and individuals to serve the purpose of state management in accordance with the law.
