Circular 06: Six Conditions for Awarding the Golden Rice Award

According to the current legal regulations, the Vietnam Golden Rice Ear Award recognizes and honors organizations and individuals with exemplary and outstanding products who have made worthy contributions to the development of agriculture and rural areas.

To be specific, the award is granted to organizations and individuals (authors, co-authors) within and outside the agricultural sector and rural development, and foreigners working in Vietnam who meet the conditions listed in Circular 06/2014/TT-BNNPTNT as follows:

- Have one of the products stipulated in Clause 2, Article 4 of this Circular.- Recognized by the competent authority:

- Inventions, patents, and useful solutions: certified by the Intellectual Property Office under the Ministry of Science and Technology;- Results of scientific research projects: have been accredited by the competent council with excellent marks and have been applied in large-scale production; confirmed for at least 03 years by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development or the Department of Science and Technology of provinces and centrally-governed cities;- …

- Products are assessed by the specialized council with an average score of at least 70 points or more (the maximum score is 100) to be eligible for submission to the ministerial-level assessment council for review and recommendation to the Minister for the award decision (specific criteria for product groups are stipulated in Appendix II issued with this Circular).- No disputes over copyright, no complaints or petitions regarding the productivity and quality of the product, and no impact on human health and the environment.- Sufficient documentation proving that the products belong to the author or co-author.- Products from organizations or individuals undergoing disciplinary actions are not eligible for the award consideration.
