The Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam issued Directive 40-CT/TW on December 11, 2024, for organizing Tet At Ty 2025.
To best prepare the conditions for the people to enjoy the spring festival, welcome the new year safely, healthily, economically, creating new momentum and motivation, successfully implementing the tasks of 2025 right from the first months of the year, the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam requests party committees, party organizations, governments, the Fatherland Front, and political-social organizations at all levels to focus on leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of some key tasks as follows:
Strengthen the work of preventing and combating wastefulness and negativity; do not organize visits, Tet greetings to superiors and leaders at all levels; do not organize central delegations to visit and greet party committees and local governments; strictly prohibit giving Tet gifts to leaders at all levels in any form; do not participate in superstitious activities; leaders at all levels are only permitted to attend temple and festival ceremonies when assigned (except for participation in a personal capacity); do not use the state budget, vehicles, or public assets contrary to regulations for festival and recreational activities...
Strictly adhere to regulations on revolutionary ethical standards; the responsibility of setting a good example by officials and party members and the prohibitions for party members, especially the rule against driving vehicles after consuming alcohol or beer.
Additionally, strengthen unity within the Communist Party, great national unity, promote the tradition of "mutual affection and affection," accelerate the implementation of poverty reduction programs, eliminate temporary homes and dilapidated houses;
Implement well the welfare policies, ensure comprehensive care for the material and spiritual living standards of the people, especially those with difficult circumstances, poor households, local people affected by natural disasters, epidemics, remote areas, border regions, islands, ethnic minorities, workers, laborers, laid-off persons... ensuring that every house and person can participate in the spring festival and celebrate Tet.
Organize well visits, encouragements, and Tet greetings to revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, families with contributions to the revolution, policy families, intellectuals, cultural artists, reputable individuals among ethnic minorities, exemplary religious dignitaries, armed forces units, and standing forces on duty during Tet days, at borders, islands, areas with difficult conditions, and regions with complex issues in political security, order, and social safety.
Furthermore, strictly implement the management and organization of festivals according to regulations, ensuring that spring activities, traditional commemoration days, year-end parties, year-beginning gatherings, tree planting festivals... are practical, safe, economical, avoiding ostentation, formality, wastefulness, and in harmony with the cultural, traditional, and good customs and habits of the nation. Localities should base on their capabilities, conditions, and actual situations to decide on organizing fireworks for the New Year, ensuring safety, economy, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the people.
