According to the provisions of Article 9 of Circular 28/2018/TT-BCT, a power plant shall cease participating in the electricity market in the following cases:
- At the request of the power generation unit owning the power plant in the following cases:- The power plant completely ceases its operation;- The power plant does not maintain and cannot restore an installed capacity greater than 30 MW within a period of 1 year.- The power plant's electricity operation license in the field of power generation is revoked or becomes invalid.
In the case stipulated at Point a Clause 1 Article 9 of Circular 28/2018/TT-BCT, at least 30 days before the intended date of ceasing participation in the electricity market, the power generation unit owning the power plant is responsible for sending a written notification of ceasing participation in the electricity market to the electricity system and market operator.
Within 10 days from the date of receiving the written notification requesting to cease participation in the electricity market from the power generation unit, the electricity system and market operator is responsible for reviewing, deciding, and reporting to the Electricity Regulatory Authority for supervision.
The electricity system and market operator is responsible for storing records, and announcing on the electricity market information website about the power plant ceasing participation in the electricity market.
