Board of Examination for Ship Inspection Officers

To be specific, according to the content of Clause 3, Article 1 of Circular 33/2017/TT-BGTVT amending Point a, Clause 4, Article 9 Circular 54/2013/TT-BGTVT, the Examination Council for Marine Inspector Officers is regulated as follows:

1. The Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration organizes examinations for marine inspector officers and decides to establish the Examination Council for Marine Inspector Officers.

2. The Council consists of 03 to 05 members, including: the Chairman of the Council, who is the Leader of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, and the members who are representatives of relevant functional departments of the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

3. The Council is responsible for organizing examination sessions for the issuance of new marine inspector officer cards.

4. The Council has the following duties and powers:

- Reviewing the standards specified in Article 6 (except for point e, Clause 2) and Article 7 (except for point e, Clause 2) of Circular 54/2013/TT-BGTVT for candidates participating in examinations for the issuance of new marine inspector officer cards; the standards specified in points a and b, Clause 1, Article 13 of Circular 54/2013/TT-BGTVT for candidates participating in examinations for card renewals when the cards expire;- Advising the Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration on the creation of exam question banks; proposing adjustments, amendments, and supplements to exam questions to suit reality;- Conducting and supervising examination sessions;- Handling incidents that occur during the examination (if any);- Establishing the Examination Board for marine inspector officers;- Summarizing the examination results and reporting to the Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration for recognition.
