Beware of Fines for Lighting Incense, Burning Votive Paper Unconformably in Vietnam

For the acts of lighting incense or burning votive paper money against the law in Vietnam, the festival organizing committee or the monument management board will be fined from 200,000 VND to 500,000 VND. This fine also applies to individuals committing the following violations:

- Throwing or dropping money into wells or ponds;

- Using vulgar language or offending spiritual matters that affect the solemn atmosphere;

- Littering that negatively impacts environmental sanitation within the festival or monument area.

Additionally, according to this Decree, there will be a warning or a fine from 200,000 VND to 500,000 VND for distributing advertising leaflets that affect aesthetics and public order and safety in vietnam.

A fine from 1,000,000 VND to 3,000,000 VND will be imposed for the following acts:

- Selling tickets or collecting fees for attending the festival;

- Not establishing the festival organizing committee as required;

- Failing to provide restrooms or providing restrooms that do not meet the required standards within the festival or monument area.

A fine from 2,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND will be imposed for any of the following acts:

- Advertising on the front, back, and roof of a means of transportation;

- Advertising exceeding the permitted area on each side of a means of transportation.

A fine from 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND will be imposed on individuals whose products, goods, or services are advertised via leaflets that affect aesthetics or public order and safety.

A fine from 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND will be imposed on individuals whose products, goods, or services are advertised by hanging, placing, pasting, or painting advertisements on electric poles, signal posts, and public trees.
