In recent years, to ensure a water supply for the daily living and business needs of the people, the State has issued numerous preferential policies for irrigation-related projects. One of these is Decree 62/2018/ND-CP on financial support for the use of public utility irrigation products and services.

The organization managing the exploitation of irrigation works shall be supported by the State with the following policies:

- Organizations exploiting irrigation works tasked with water supply, irrigation, and drainage, in addition to funds for the use of public utility irrigation products and services paid by the State, are also entitled to subsidies and price supports (excluding the provision of irrigation public utility products and services through tendering) as well as financial support in accordance with the law based on the budget capacity at each level;- The central budget provides subsidies, price supports, and financial support for organizations managing the exploitation of central irrigation works;- The local budget provides subsidies, price supports, and financial support for organizations managing the exploitation of local irrigation works.
