Basic Contents of Professional and Operational Training for Forest Protection

March 28, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Circular 08/2017/TT-BNNPTNT regulating the professional training and attire for the specialized forest protection forces of forest owners.

The professional training and expertise in forest protection management are regulated by Circular 08 as follows:

Regarding the training content

- Basic knowledge of laws related to forest protection management;- Skills in patrolling and inspecting forest protection;- Methods for preparing initial documentation for legal violations in the field of forest protection management and forest product management;- Skills in forest fire prevention and firefighting;- Other professional skills and expertise.

Regarding the training materials

- The program framework approved by the General Department of Forestry;- The content of the materials must be regularly supplemented and updated to ensure compliance with regulations and meet practical requirements.

Regarding the training format

- Initial training applies to individuals who have not received training in forest protection management and complies with the provisions of Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article;- Advanced training applies to individuals who have participated in initial training; the content of the advanced training includes updating and supplementing knowledge or other professional training as required by the forest owner.

Refer to the related regulations in Circular 08/2017/TT-BNNPTNT which took effect from May 16, 2017.
