In the regulations issued with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the profession of mechanical technology, heating, and air conditioning at the college level in Vietnam is defined as a profession that performs tasks such as machining, manufacturing parts and component assemblies, pipe accessories for installation, operation, and maintenance of water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, and air conditioning systems for factories and civil constructions, ensuring technical standards, occupational safety and hygiene, environmental protection, efficient use of energy and resources, meeting the requirements of Level 5 in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework;

- After graduating, students of mechanical technology, heating, and air conditioning at the college level can work at companies specializing in electromechanical construction, construction companies, companies specializing in building management, companies manufacturing pipes, and cable trays used for water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, and air conditioning systems;

- Working conditions of the profession: Working at heights, exposure to dust, noise, regular contact with power sources, frequent movement following projects. Therefore, it requires workers to have good health, and agile demeanor.

- Main tools and equipment of the profession: Handheld mechanical processing tools, mechanical machines such as saw machines, welding machines, pipe bending machines, threading machines; heat pumps, local air conditioning systems, central air conditioning systems, water pumps; tools and equipment used in installation, inspection, maintenance of water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems.

- After graduation, learners have the capacity to meet the requirements of job positions in the industry, including: machining parts and mechanical component assemblies used for water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems, and related equipment; installing water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems; operating and maintaining water supply and drainage systems, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems in factories and buildings.

- The minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the Mechanical Technology, Heating, and Air Conditioning industry at the college level can continue to develop at higher levels; graduates have the ability to self-study, update scientific and technological advancements within their industry to enhance their level or transfer to higher levels in the same industry or group of disciplines or in the same training field.
