Applicants for provision of online securities transaction services in Vietnam

On December 19, 2017, the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam issued Circular No. 134/2017/TT-BTC providing guidelines for e-transactions on securities market. This Circular stipulates applicants for provision of online securities transaction services as follows:

The applicant for provision of online securities transaction services is a securities company affiliated to the Stock Exchange (SE), has been connected to SE’s transaction system and shall not:

Firstly, be under dissolution or bankruptcy process, have its operation or transaction suspended to terminate membership status at SE.

Secondly, have its brokerage operation terminated or be following the procedures for terminating brokerage operation.

Thirdly, be under control or special control.

Fourthly, other cases where its operation is terminated in accordance with regulations of law.

More details can be found in Circular No. 134/2017/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, which takes effect from March 01, 2018.
