Announcement of the schedule for Lunar New Year Holiday in 2025 of Soc Trang Province

In order to implement the unified schedule for holidays and the display of the national flag on holidays and festivals in 2025, the People’s Committee of Soc Trang province issued Announcement No. 68 as follows:

1. For officials and public employees, employees (collectively referred to as officials and public employees) of administrative agencies, service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (collectively referred to as agencies, units, organizations):

- New Year's Day: Granted a 1-day holiday on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday).

- Lunar New Year: Granted a continuous 9-day holiday from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (equivalent to the 26th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon) until the end of Sunday, February 2, 2025 (equivalent to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Snake). This holiday includes 5 Lunar New Year days and 4 weekly rest days.

- Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month): Permitted a continuous 3-day holiday, from Saturday, April 5, 2025, to the end of Monday, April 7, 2025. This holiday includes 1 public holiday and 2 weekly rest days.

- Victory Day (April 30 in the Gregorian calendar) and International Labor Day (May 1 in the Gregorian calendar): Permitted a continuous 5-day holiday from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, until the end of Sunday, May 4, 2025. This holiday includes 2 public holidays, 2 weekly rest days, and 1 compensatory workday (making up on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

- National Day (September 2 in the Gregorian calendar): Granted a continuous 4-day holiday from Saturday, August 30, 2025, to the end of Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This includes 2 National Day public holidays and 2 weekly rest days.

2. For officials and soldiers of the armed forces, observe holidays and festivals according to specific regulations of the sector.

3. For preschool children, kindergarten students, students of general education, continuing education learners, and college students in institutions across the province, observe holidays and festivals according to the regulations at points a, c, d, e of clause 1 in this Notice.

Regarding the Lunar New Year holiday: Preschool children, kindergarten students, general education students, and continuing education learners are granted a continuous 13-day holiday from Monday, January 27, 2025, to the end of Saturday, February 8, 2025. Colleges will decide and announce the holiday schedule for students based on the educational program and relevant regulations.

4. For agencies, units, organizations not implementing a fixed Saturday and Sunday weekly holiday schedule, they should arrange a suitable holiday schedule based on the specific program and plans and ensure compliance with the law.

5. For employees not classified under clause 1, clause 2 of this Notice, employers choose one of the following holiday options for 2025:

- Lunar New Year: Regarding the Lunar New Year holiday: Choose 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 3 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 3 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

- National Day (September 2 in the Gregorian calendar): Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose 1 among 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

- Other holidays are implemented per the provisions of the Labor Code.

- Employers notify the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday plans for 2025 to the employees according to the regulations. Encourage applying the Lunar New Year holiday duration, Victory Day celebration on April 30, International Labor Day on May 1, and National Day holiday in 2025 for employees similar to the regulations for officials and public employees.

- If a weekly rest day coincides with a public holiday regulated at clause 1 of Article 112 of the Labor Code, employees are entitled to compensatory leave on the next working day, as stipulated in clause 3 of Article 111 of the Labor Code.
