Announcement for the schedule for Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 in Bac Ninh

On December 6, 2024, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province issued Announcement 199/TB-UBND concerning the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, for officials, public employees, and employees, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the province announces the holidays for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day on April 30, and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, as follows:

1. Officials and public employees, and employees of administrative agencies, career organizations, political organizations, and socio-political organizations are entitled to:

   - The Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 from Saturday, January 25, 2025, (i.e., the 26th day of the 12th month of the lunar year of Giap Thin) to Sunday, February 2, 2025, (i.e., the 5th day of the 1st month of the lunar year of At Ty); comprising 5 days of Lunar New Year holiday and 4 weekly days off.

   - The National Day holiday in 2025 from Saturday, August 30, 2025, to the end of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, comprising 2 days for the National Day holiday and 2 weekly days off.

   - Swap the working day from Friday, May 2, 2025, to Saturday, April 26, 2025. For the Victory Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, 2025, officials and public employees will enjoy a continuous 5-day holiday from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (compensating on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

2. Agencies, units, and localities implementing the schedule for the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day, and International Labor Day on April 30 and May 1, 2025, should arrange appropriate staffing to continuously handle work, ensuring good service for organizations and the people, including appointing officials to be on duty to deal with unexpected, sudden tasks that may arise during the holiday period in accordance with regulations.

3. Agencies, units, and localities are to have specific, appropriate plans and measures encouraging units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to actively engage in production, business, economic, and social activities, ensuring the stability of goods and services supply and demand, prices, and markets, thus contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, saving practices, and waste prevention, striving for the successful completion of 2025's objectives and tasks, the acceleration year, breakthrough implementation of the 5-year plan for 2021 - 2025, laying a solid foundation for fast and sustainable development in the future.

4. Agencies and units that do not follow regular weekends off on Saturdays and Sundays should arrange the holiday schedule in compliance with legal standards, based on the agency's, unit's specific program, and plan.

5. For employees not within the scope of paragraph 1 of this Announcement, the employer shall decide the Lunar New Year holiday plan, National Day holiday, Victory Day, and International Labor Day on April 30 and May 1, 2025, as follows:

   - For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose 1 of the last days of the lunar year of Giap Thin and the first 4 days of the lunar year of At Ty, or 2 of the last days of the lunar year of Giap Thin and the first 3 days of the lunar year of At Ty, or 3 of the last days of the lunar year of Giap Thin and the first 2 days of the lunar year of At Ty.

   - For the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose 1 of the 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

   - Inform the plan for the Lunar New Year holiday and the National Day holiday of 2025 to employees at least 30 days prior.

   - In case the weekly day off coincides with the holiday or Tet as stipulated in paragraph 1 of Article 112 of the Labor Code, employees are entitled to a compensatory day off as specified in paragraph 3 of Article 111 of the Labor Code.

   - Employers are encouraged to apply the holiday schedule for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day, and International Labor Day on April 30 and May 1, 2025, for employees as applied to officials and public employees.

6. Other foreign holidays and Tet are implemented according to the Labor Code.
