This is the highlight of the provisions set out in Circular 289/2016/TT-BTC regulating the rate of collection, collection policies, payment, management, and use of fees and charges in the field of cinematography.
The fee rates for the evaluation of licenses for film production cooperation, joint venture production, and providing film production services to foreign organizations and individuals as per the current regulations are as follows:
- For long film projects: 5,000,000 VND/project.- For short film projects: 2,400,000 VND/project.
Additionally, Circular 289/2016/TT-BTC also sets forth several notices as follows:
- Licensing fee for setting up branches and representative offices of foreign film production establishments in Vietnam: 1,000,000 VND/license.- Fee for issuing and affixing control stamps on tapes and discs with programs in the film industry: 500 VND/stamp.- In cases where the competent authority has evaluated the film script but it does not meet the requirements for production; has evaluated and classified films, evaluated for licensing cooperation, joint venture film production; evaluated for licensing the establishment of representative offices of foreign film production establishments in Vietnam but does not meet the conditions for licensing, the already paid fees and charges will not be refunded.
