Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree 76/2019/ND-CP, replacing Decree 116/2010/ND-CP and Decree 64/2009/ND-CP, on benefits for officials, public employees, employees, and salaried personnel in the armed forces working in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions in Vietnam.
All allowances and subsidies for officials working in extremely difficult areas under the new regulations in Vietnam are summarized in the table below:

06 | Travel Expenses | Travel expenses for visits to the family during annual leave, public holidays, and personal leave are reimbursed. |

Support for the purchase of study materials and 100% tuition fees, travel costs from the workplace to the study location. For personnel working in ethnic minority areas who self-study the ethnic language to fulfill their duties, support is provided for study materials and self-study allowances. The self-study allowance is equivalent to the allowance for studying in formal schools or classes. |

09 | Allowance for Mobile Work and Teaching Ethnic Minority Languages for Educators, Public Employees in Education Management | Mobile Work Allowance: Applicable to educators and public employees in education management who are specializing in illiteracy eradication and general education and frequently travel to villages. Allowance amount: 0.2 x statutory pay rate = 0.2 x 1,490,000 VND = 298,000 VND. |
Allowance for Teaching Ethnic Minority Languages: Applicable to educators and public employees in education management teaching ethnic minority languages. Allowance amount: 50% of current salary + leadership position allowance, seniority allowance exceeding the framework. |
