Agencies under the General Department of Politics as stipulated in Circular 24 (Illustrative image)

According to Article 6 of Circular 24/2014/TT-BQP, the responsibilities of the agencies under the General Department of Politics include:

1. Department of Propaganda and Training

- Preside over and cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the General Department of Politics in directing and guiding agencies and units to implement National Defense and Security Education (NDSE) as per authority; coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to carry out propaganda and dissemination of national defense and security knowledge to the general public;

- Preside over and cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the General Department of Politics and the Ministry of National Defense in directing, guiding, and implementing commendation and reward tasks regarding NDSE;

- Participate in teaching, training, propagating, disseminating national defense and security knowledge, compiling, revising programs, textbooks, educational materials, and conducting scientific research about NDSE.

2. Department of Personnel

- Coordinate with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the General Department of Politics, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Central Military Commission in deciding on the organization, staffing, position groups, and highest military ranks of personnel seconded to perform NDSE tasks;

- Preside over and cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the General Department of Politics in proposing to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense the secondment of officers to centers, higher education institutions, and state management agencies on education; manage, train, and train/refresh seconded officers according to the hierarchy.

3. Department of Organization

- Preside over and cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to assist the General Department of Politics, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Central Military Commission in directing and guiding Communist Party work and political work in implementing NDSE tasks;

- Participate in teaching, training, propagating, disseminating national defense and security knowledge, compiling, revising programs, textbooks, educational materials, and conducting scientific research about NDSE.

4. Military press, radio, television, cultural, and arts agencies cooperate with relevant agencies and organizations to propagate, disseminate national defense, and security knowledge to the People's Armed Forces and the general public.
