Article [X]: Officers of the Armed ForcesOfficers constitute the core force of the armed forces and form the primary component within the military cadre. They hold various positions of leadership, command, and management, or directly perform other tasks, ensuring the military is always ready to fight and accomplish all assigned missions.
The maximum age for active duty officers is regulated according to military ranks as follows:
- Sub-lieutenant: male 46, female 46;- Major: male 48, female 48;- Lieutenant Colonel: male 51, female 51;- Senior Lieutenant Colonel: male 54, female 54;- Colonel: male 57, female 55;- General rank: male 60, female 55.
When the military requires, officers possessing adequate political qualities, ethics, professional and operational expertise, good health, and voluntary willingness may have their active duty service extended for up to 5 years; in exceptional cases, it can be extended further.
The maximum age for officers holding command or management positions in units is regulated by the Minister of National Defense but shall not exceed the maximum age for officers as stipulated above.
