Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam has approved the Action Plan 2024 for implementing the Artificial Intelligence Application Development Strategy until 2030 (AI Application Strategy).

On May 3, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam issued Decision 699/QD-BTTTT approving the Action Plan 2024 for implementing the Artificial Intelligence Application Development Strategy until 2030 (AI Application Strategy).

The Action Plan 2024 for implementing the Artificial Intelligence Application Development Strategy until 2030 (AI Application Strategy), as approved by the Ministry of Information and Communications, includes the objectives, requirements, and indicators as follows:

(1) Objectives, requirements

* Objectives:

- Effectively and qualitatively implement the goals and tasks of the Artificial Intelligence Application Development Strategy until 2030 (AI Application Strategy) issued in Decision 2259/QD-BTTTT on December 7, 2022, by the Minister of Information and Communications.

- Enhance responsibility and improve the quality and effectiveness of implementing tasks related to artificial intelligence applications.

* Requirements:

- Clearly define the tasks, completion time, and responsibilities of each agency and unit in implementing the assigned tasks.

- Identify priority tasks, the implementation timeline, and ensure feasibility; implement in 2024 and subsequent years.

- Assigned agencies and units shall actively coordinate closely with relevant agencies and units within and outside the Ministry of Information and Communications to effectively implement the assigned goals and tasks.

3	Officials and experts in state agencies at the central and local levels, as well as state-owned corporations and enterprises, trained and equipped with knowledge of AI application.	At least 100 people	At least 1,000 people	Number of officials and experts who have completed AI application training integrated into the Project "Enhancing Awareness, Skills Popularization, and Developing Digital Transformation Human Resources until 2025, with a vision till 2030" approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam in Decision 146/QD-TTg on January 28, 2022.
4	State agencies at the ministry and provincial levels have opened and provided open data in accordance with regulations on the national data portal to serve the development of AI applications for the digital economy and digital society.	20%	100%	Number of state agencies at the ministry and province levels that have opened data and have open data in accordance with regulations on the national data portal/Total number of state agencies at the ministry and provincial levels.
