Only less than 01 month left until workers across the country will enter the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Rat 2020. To comply with the law and avoid negative occurrences during this Tet holiday, officials are absolutely prohibited from performing the following acts:

1. Using public assets to give gifts to superiors against the law
To be specific, Section 16 of Directive 34/CT-TTg clearly stipulates that agencies in the state administrative system must thoroughly implement and strictly adhere to not using the budget to organize visits, Tet felicitation, and gifts for leaders of agencies and units at all levels; not to use public vehicles and assets for personal activities during Tet, festivals...
Additionally, Decree 59/2019/ND-CP also stipulates that public funds and assets may only be used for gifting purposes for charity, diplomatic relations, and implementing policies as prescribed by law. The act of gifting must be accounted for and transparent within the agency or unit, and must comply with policies, norms, standards, and target groups as set forth by law; agency.
2. Receiving illegal gifts
To be specific, Article 25 of Decree 59/2019/ND-CP strictly prohibits officials from directly or indirectly receiving gifts in any form from agencies, organizations, units, or individuals related to their work or within their scope of management.
In cases where refusal is impossible, the agency, organization, or unit must manage and handle the gifts according to Article 27 of Decree 59/2019/ND-CP.
3. Using public vehicles for festival activities
According to the regulations in Section 16 of Directive 34/CT-TTg, public vehicles are only to be used for work purposes of the agency or unit. Therefore, officials are not permitted to use public vehicles and assets for personal activities during Tet and festivals.
4. Drinking alcohol during working hours
This content is stipulated in Directive 26/CT-TTg, which strictly prohibits officials from consuming alcohol, beer, and other beverages containing alcohol during working hours, lunch breaks on working days, or during Tet duty shifts.
5. Gambling in casinos
Each Tet Nguyen Dan, gambling activities often spike, making it difficult to control. To set an example for citizens, officials are prohibited from gambling in casinos in any form. This point is emphasized in Section 3 of Directive 26/CT-TTg.
6. Celebratory activities and spring excursions after the Tet holiday
According to Directive 34/CT-TTg, immediately after the Tet holiday, agencies, organizations, and units must promptly return to work to avoid delays that could impact production and business activities. Organizing celebratory activities and spring excursions that lead to waste is not allowed.
