6 Activities for Remedial Actions in the Road Sector Post-Natural Disasters

On January 11, 2019, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular 03/2019/TT-BGTVT regulating disaster prevention, control, and mitigation in the road transport sector.

According to the provisions of Circular 03/2019/TT-BGTVT, disaster recovery activities include the following:

- Searching for and rescuing people in distress; salvaging means of transportation and property of the state and the people affected by natural disasters.- Participating in relief efforts, aiding, and stabilizing the lives of people in areas affected by natural disasters or areas isolated by floods and storms.- Investigating, surveying, and assessing damages and proposing plans to remedy the damages.- Repairing and restoring damaged road infrastructure to ensure smooth traffic flow.- Repairing construction equipment, office buildings, warehouses, workshops, and taking the fastest measures to restore production.- Implementing environmental sanitation and disease prevention measures.
