10 Principal Maritime Protest Regulations According to Current Provisions

On October 28, 2016, the Ministry of Transport issued Circular No. 30/2016/TT-BGTVT stipulating the procedures for submitting and confirming maritime protests.

According to the provisions of Circular 30/2016/TT-BGTVT, maritime protests include the following main contents:

- Full name, date of birth, ID card or citizen identification card or passport number, date of issue, and place of issue of the captain.- Information about the vessel includes: vessel name, port of registry, registration number, port of arrival, gross tonnage, nationality, IMO number.- Quantity, type, and packaging characteristics of goods on the vessel.- Time and location of the accident or incident.- Weather conditions at the time of the accident or incident.- Description of the sequence of events regarding the accident or incident.- Losses caused by the accident or suspected losses due to the accident or incident.- Measures taken to mitigate the circumstances of the accident or incident and limit losses caused by the accident or incident.- Other information related to the accident or incident.- A list of accompanying documents as specified in Article 5 of Circular 30/2016/TT-BGTVT.
