09 Responsibilities of provincial police in managing the traffic surveillance system in Vietnam

09 Responsibilities of provincial police in managing the traffic surveillance system in Vietnam (Illustrative photo)

To be specific, Circular 17/2014/TT-BCA stipulates that the Police of provinces and centrally affiliated cities (hereinafter referred to as Provincial Police) are responsible for managing the traffic surveillance system on roads within the administrative boundaries of provinces and centrally-run cities. The responsibilities of Provincial Police in managing the traffic surveillance system in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:

  1. Implement the management of the traffic surveillance system on roads within the administrative boundaries of provinces and centrally-run cities or on roads that are decentralized;
  2. Store and provide surveillance data, handle administrative violations concerning traffic order and safety;
  3. Ensure the security and safety of data within the traffic surveillance system;
  4. Develop plans to deploy forces tasked with controlling and handling violations detected through the traffic surveillance system;
  5. Prepare statistics, lists, and categorize assets belonging to the traffic surveillance system managed by localities;
  6. Assign functional units to operate and protect the traffic surveillance system;
  7. Inspect the operation, maintenance, and safety protection of the traffic surveillance system;
  8. Inspect, audit, and handle violations of the law concerning the management and use of the traffic surveillance system;
  9. Perform other tasks to ensure the management requirements of the traffic surveillance system.
