08 General Principles for Sampling Supervision of Food Safety in Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries

Circular 08/2016/TT-BNNPTNT has been signed and promulgated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, stipulating the supervision of food safety for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.

According to the regulations in Circular 08/2016/TT-BNNPTNT, sampling activities shall adhere to the following principles:

- Clearly determine the purpose, scope, and subjects of sampling before taking samples.- Samples are collected based on the principle of randomness to ensure representativeness.- Sampling activities should not contaminate the collected samples.- Samples must be of sufficient quantity to serve analysis purposes.- Samples should be sealed, preserved, and transported under appropriate conditions.- Information about the samples must be fully recorded.- For products packaged in small bags, the entire bag must be sampled (each bag is considered a unit sample).- In the case of pre-packaged products, the selected products for sampling must be within the expiry date.
