The noteworthy content specified in Circular 27/2016/TT-BTNMT detailing the set of indicators and the assessment of results of marine and island environmental pollution control activities.
The assessment of the results of marine and island environmental pollution control activities must be based on the following criteria:
- Leadership, direction, and administration of marine and island environmental pollution control.- Review and systematization; monitoring and examination of the implementation of legal documents regarding marine and island environmental pollution control.- Investigation, statistics, classification, and assessment of pollution sources from land, and from activities at sea and on islands; the status of marine and island environmental pollution.- Periodic monitoring and assessment of the current status of water quality, sediment, and biodiversity in marine and island areas.- Prevention, detection, handling, and remediation of pollution and environmental degradation, marine and island ecosystems; improvement and restoration of polluted and degraded marine and island environments and ecosystems.- Response to and remediation of marine environmental incidents.- Propaganda, dissemination, and education to raise awareness about marine and island environmental protection laws.- Inspection and examination of compliance with laws on marine resources and the environment, and the resolution of complaints and denunciations.
