07 Prohibited Acts in Surveying and Mapping Activities

The Law on Surveying and Mapping 2018 was passed by the XIV National Assembly, at its 5th session on June 14, 2018. Accordingly, it specifically lists 07 prohibited acts as follows:

  1. Falsify or alter data, measurement results, and maps.
  2. Destroy or damage measurement infrastructure; violate the protection corridor of the measurement infrastructure.
  3. Conduct measurement and mapping activities without the conditions as stipulated by law.
  4. Publish or circulate measurement and mapping products; publish map publications related to national territorial sovereignty without representing or inaccurately representing national sovereignty and borders.
  5. Obstruct the lawful measurement and mapping activities of an agency, organization, or individual.
  6. Exploit measurement and mapping activities to infringe upon national or ethnic interests, and the legal rights and interests of organizations or individuals.
  7. Disseminate or disclose information, data, and measurement and mapping products listed as state secrets.

Additionally, the Law on Measurement and Mapping 2018 also stipulates:

- Revoke the Measurement and Mapping Activity Permit for the violations mentioned in items 1, 4, 6, and 7 above;- Revoke the Measurement and Mapping Practitioner Certificate for individuals who perform the prohibited acts mentioned above.

Law on Measurement and Mapping 2018 is effective from January 1, 2019.
