Recently, the Ministry of Health issued Circular 59/2015/TT-BYT regulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of the Reproductive Health Care Centers of provinces and cities under the Central Government.
Main Tasks of the Maternal Health Care and Family Planning Department (Illustration)
Circular 59/2015/TT-BYT specifies in detail the tasks of the Maternal Health Care and Family Planning Department under the Provincial Reproductive Health Care Center as follows:
- Develop plans and organize the implementation of professional and technical tasks related to women's health care, maternal health, family planning services, safe abortion, prevention of reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, early prevention, screening, and early treatment of reproductive tract cancers, prevention and treatment of infertility, prenatal and neonatal screening.- Serve as the focal point for implementing programs and projects related to women's health care, maternal health, technical services for family planning, safe abortion, prevention of reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, early prevention, screening, and early treatment of reproductive tract cancers, prevention and treatment of infertility, prenatal and neonatal screening;- Provide guidance, inspection, and supervision, professional, and technical support to lower-level units in women's health care, maternal health, family planning services, safe abortion, prevention of reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, early prevention, screening, and early treatment of reproductive tract cancers, prevention and treatment of infertility, prenatal and neonatal screening;- Participate in organizing the implementation of information, communication, and health education activities related to reproductive health care;- Participate in scientific research, professional training, and professional development activities related to women's health care, maternal health, family planning services, safe abortion, prevention of reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted infections, early prevention, screening, and early treatment of reproductive tract cancers, prevention and treatment of infertility, prenatal and neonatal screening for the center's staff and lower-level units;- Implement statistical and reporting policies as prescribed;- Perform other tasks and powers assigned by the Center Director.
