Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has issued the Circular No. 40/2020/TT-BGDĐT stipulating codes, standards for professional titles, appointment and salary arrangement for teaching staff in public higher education institutions.
Specifically, according to Clause 1 Article 5 of the Circular No. 40/2020/TT-BGDĐT of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, 07 duties for lecturers (class III) - Code: V.07.01.03 in public higher education institutions include:
1. Teaching, guiding and grading projects and graduation theses; participating in teaching master's and doctoral-level training programs, guiding and evaluating master's and doctoral theses if they meet the prescribed criteria;
2. Participating in the formulation and development of training programs;
3. Presiding over or participating in compiling textbooks, reference books, monographs, manuals, translating books and textbooks in foreign languages into Vietnamese (hereinafter referred to as training books);
4. Organizing and participating in scientific research activities; writing and participating in scientific reports at scientific conferences and seminars; participating in the evaluation of grassroots-level scientific research projects and student scientific research topics; participating in international cooperation activities and ensuring the quality of higher education;
5. Participating in the work of class leaders, academic advisors; guiding discussion, practice, experiment and internship;
6. Studying and fostering to raise the level of political theory, expertise, profession and teaching methods; participating in practical activities to improve the quality of training and scientific research;
7. Participating in the management and work of the Party and mass organizations and performing other tasks in accordance with the organization and operation regulations of the public higher education institution and other relevant laws.
