07 Criteria for Evaluating and Selecting Science and Technology Projects
Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology has just signed and issued Circular 37/2014/TT-BKHCN stipulating the management of basic research projects funded by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development.

The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development evaluates the selection of projects through the Science Council as stipulated in Article 8 of Circular 37/2014/TT-BKHCN.
To be specific, the criteria for evaluating and selecting projects include:
- The necessity of the research issue and its alignment with the basic research direction funded by the Foundation;- The novelty and creativity of the proposed research issue;- Clear objectives and content; appropriate methods and research plans to achieve the objectives;- The competence and research experience of the project leader and the research group; technical and material conditions of the hosting organization facilitating the research;- Expected results; the project's potential success; scientific significance and the prospect of applying research results;- Contribution to postgraduate training;- Reasonable research budget estimate.
The working method of the Science Council in the sessions for evaluating and selecting projects is specified by the Management Council of the Foundation.
