Recently, the Ministry of Public Security has submitted the Draft Law on ensuring road traffic order and safety to the National Assembly of Vietnam for consideration.
According to the Draft Law on ensuring road traffic order and safety of Vietnam, road traffic signs include the following 6 groups:
1. Prohibitive signs indicate prohibitions that road users must not violate. Prohibitive signs are circular in shape, red bordered, white background, with drawings or numbers on the background, black writing showing the prohibition, except for some special cases;
2. The group of danger and warning signs is a group of signs that let road users know in advance of dangers or things to pay attention to on the road to proactively prevent timely. The sign has an equilateral triangle shape, red border, yellow background, black drawing depicting the incident to be signaled;
3. Group of command signs is a group of signs to signal the commands that traffic participants must obey. Except for some special signs, the signs show a circle on a blue background with a white drawing representing a signal to warn road users;
4. Signage group is a group of signs used to provide necessary information and instructions to road users. The sign is rectangular or square or arrow-shaped, with a blue background;
5. Group of auxiliary signs and signs written in words is a group of signs intended to supplement the contents of the main sea or used independently;
6. Temporary sign is a situational sea used to organize traffic control of a short-term nature such as in events and situations related to national defense, security, social order and safety, traffic incidents or used during road construction or repair.
