05 general requirements for personal self-rescue device maintenance

Circular 50/2018/TT-BCT has been issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, promulgating the National Technical Regulation on personal self-rescuer safety used in underground mines.

According to Circular 50, the storage of individual self-rescue devices for workers operating in mines, pits, and tunnels must meet the following general requirements:

- The individual self-rescue device must be placed on a rack with a height of no less than 0.2 m, ensuring that the device does not come into contact with the warehouse floor.- During storage, the straps must not be removed, the device must not be tampered with if not in use, grease must not accumulate on the outer surface of the individual self-rescue device, and it must be protected from impacts and vibrations.- The individual self-rescue device must not be stored together with substances that cause metal corrosion or in areas with solvents.- Used individual self-rescue devices must not be stored near flammable liquids or solid materials.- The individual self-rescue device must not be exposed to direct sunlight and must be kept at least 1 meter away from equipment that can emit heat up to 55 ⁰C. Care should be taken to avoid strong impacts during transportation.
