05 contents of Airport environmental protection plan in Vietnam

Below is notable content specified in Circular 53/2012/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport on planning management, investment in construction of hydroelectric projects, and operation and exploitation of hydroelectric projects to protect the environment in civil aviation activities in Vietnam, issued on December 25, 2012.

Specifically, Article 3 of Circular 53/2012/TT-BGTVT stipulates that an Airport environmental protection plan in Vietnam consists of:

1. Environmental infrastructure plans;

2. Environmental emergency prevention and response plans and procedures;

3. Environmental protection training and education plans;

4. Airport environmental monitoring plans;

5. Environmental protection financial plans;

Every airport operator, business establishment's owner and service provider at the airport in Vietnam shall prepare an environmental protection plan; periodically assess and adjust the environmental protection plan according to the reality and business activities.

Note: The airport authority in Vietnam shall inspect and supervise implementation of environmental protection plans by airport operators, business establishments and service providers at the airport.

More details can be found in Circular 53/2012/TT-BGTVT, which comes into force from March 1, 2013.
