04 types of groundwater resource map products at a scale of 1:100,000 in Vietnam

Below is a noteworthy regulation stipulated in Circular 16/2013/TT-BTNMT prescribing the technical methods for creating groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 in Vietnam.

Article 5 of Circular 16/2013/TT-BTNMT stipulates that the product of groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 in Vietnam includes:

Product of groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000, Circular 16/2013/TT-BTNMT

Illustration (source: internet)

- Groundwater resource maps;

- Thematic maps:

+  Maps  of  actual  groundwater  resource  data;

+ Maps  of  groundwater  quality;

+  Maps  of  underground  flow  modules.

- Explanatory report on groundwater resource maps;

- Appendices: summarized and statistical tables of integrated survey results, detailed according to aquifer structures and administrative units; statistical tables listing detailed survey points and other information. Cross-section drawings and other illustrations.

The product of groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 in Vietnam is published in both paper and digital formats.

Additionally, Circular 16/2013/TT-BTNMT also stipulates the mathematical basis of groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 as follows:

The groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 are established in the National Reference and Coordinate System VN2000 (UTM Projection, WGS84 Ellipsoid, 6° zone, deformation coefficient k0 = 0.9996).

The central meridian of the groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 is determined according to Table 1 below:

Table 1. Central meridian by projection zones

No. Left meridian Central meridian Right meridian
Zone 48 102° 105° 108°
Zone 49 108° 111° 114°
Zone 50 114° 117° 120°

The map frame, meridian, and parallel grids of the groundwater resource maps at a scale of 1:100,000 show both the longitude-latitude grid and the kilometer grid in accordance with current regulations of topographic maps of equivalent scale.

Refer to other regulations in Circular 16/2013/TT-BTNMT effective from August 5, 2013.
